This morning I finished my final Ravellenic Games project, Pixie. She will count as 8 separate entries (doll: Toy Toss/Holiday Hurdle; dress: Toy Toss/Colorwork Crosscountry/Holiday Hurdle; poncho: Toy Toss/Lace Longjump/Holiday Hurdle). I think entered her and her clothing in all 8 categories, plus posting it to my team’s page was more work than making her! Whew.
She will be Belle’s Christmas present, although my husband suggested that I might want to keep her to play with myself. True. I did sit in a nostalgic stupor gazing at her and stroking her hair and dress for a good while this morning. I think we never outgrow our love of beautiful dolls.
I simply cannot wait to knit a whole wardrobe for her!
Now I want to make something equally special for my son. Is there a boy version of a doll like this? If you know of anything, please comment and let me know!
One would think I would need to take a break from knitting for a while after the marathon stitchery of the past two weeks. One would be wrong. You see, it is an obsession. So I’ve just cast on a special project in chunky wool. It’s my own design for a shoulder shrug/cowl thingy and I’ll feature it with a giveaway in a few weeks.
In the meantime, enjoy my current giveaway for the Holy Grail of Project Bags.
